BSLM Annual Conference 2025

The British Society of Lifestyle Medicine is recognised as one of the best conferences in the world. This year’s conference is being held in Brighton and is an event not to be missed.

The theme this year speaks to the importance in clinical practice of not just the science of what works to support people live healthier lives but also the “art” of clinical practice. Our aim is to equip our members, from all healthcare disciples, with the tools to support patients living in difficult circumstances and those facing serious challenges to be able to live well. You will learn that engaging in the arts and cultural activities can enhance wellbeing by connecting individuals to others with likeminded interests.

The transformation of healthcare is becoming more urgent with the pressures experienced by the NHS because of the increasing burden of chronic diseases. The redesign of healthcare that is currently foremost in the minds of our politicians across the UK envisages a shift from delivering care in hospitals to communities; making better use of technology to support care delivery; and most importantly focussing on preventing sickness, not just treating illness.

Lifestyle medicine addresses all three shifts by focusing on the 3 principles; what matters to patients according to their personal circumstances and social determinants of health, skills to help behavioural change and by using the 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine to support them make the changes in their lives. We know from our members our approach can make a difference to all people, including professionals and communities. Join us to learn how that is happening and how you can face the challenges with confidence in the knowledge of what works to lead that change. You will receive a warm welcome!
