13 years ago, I wrote a book called “Gadgets to God” which reflected on the exponential impact of digital technologies on all aspects of life. The book is an autobiographical account of how all the technologies that are part of all our daily lives now have artificial intelligence embedded in them.
The conclusion that I reached in my book is that AI has even more potential to destroy the future of humanity than the atom bomb. It is our growing dependence on digital technologies, our ceaseless demand for faster and ever more personalised services which has the potential to destroy all our futures.
